Dr Chris Brown tends to attract attention wherever he goes with his 6'5 height and beautiful blond hair - but he got more than he wanted on his recent trip to Japan. Appearing on the morning radio show Triple M’s Mick and MG in the Morning Show, he recalled an embarrassing incident that he would rather forget. “It may not surprise you to learn that I do tend to stand out a little bit on the streets of Tokyo,” he began, to the amusement of radio host Mick Molloy. “Um, six foot five, blond hair, and on the subway especially. “But, I don’t know if you know, in Japan you can buy beers absolutely anywhere — vending machines on the streets, in the subway when you’re just queueing for a train, and so I got involved in this. “I bought a can of Asahi, nice Japanese beer, and was carrying it in my bag, just over my shoulder.” As he got into the crowded train and made his way, the TV vet shared that started to feel a “cold trickle” down his leg. “I realised very quickly that the beer I’d bought had exploded in my bag,” he said. “And I now have a rapidly growing wet patch across my groin, running from my bag to my groin and down my leg, and a highly suspicious amber fluid going across a crowded train carriage,” he continued, making everyone in the studio laugh. “If I couldn’t stand out any more, I found a way.” He added that nobody said a word because Japanese people are so polite, but he did say there was “endless gazing," because they thought he wet himself. “They’re connecting the dots from the trickle along the carriage back up my leg and up to my very wet body,” he added. “Oh wow, oh well I hope you were filming that,” Mick Molloy chuckled. “By the way, that’s how I leave the station every day, on a train, with a wet patch, talking to myself,” he quipped. “Well, I tell you what, if you want to clear some space, it’s a great way to do it, let me tell you,” the TV vet laughed. We’ve all been there before. We’re watering our seemingly healthy houseplant when suddenly there it is: a tinge of brown on the plant’s leaf. Yikes. But what do brown tips on leaves mean for your plant, and what can you do to make them go away? Read on to find out. Lack of water or humidity If your plant is sporting crispy, dark, or brown tips on its leaves, it may mean you need to water more often. Check the soil moisture and slowly reduce the number of days in between watering. Watch your plants for signs of improvement. Lack of humidity could also be the cause. Tropical plants prefer higher humidity levels than we have in our homes. When we turn on the heat in winter, there’s even less moisture in the air. Group plants together so that as one loses moisture through its leaves, the neighbours benefit. Or place plants on saucers or trays filled with pebbles and water. Set a pot on the pebbles above the water. As the water evaporates, it will increase the humidity around the plant, where it is needed. Lack of nutrients A lack of key nutrients may be behind the brown tips on leaves of your plant. Burned-looking leaf tips, or old leaves with dark green or reddish-purplish colouring, may indicate a phosphorus deficiency. With a potassium deficiency, you may see yellow or brown along older leaf tips and edges, yellowing between veins, curling leaves, or spotting. For potted plants, add a slow-release type of fertiliser to the soil mix before planting. Every time you water, a little fertiliser is released, providing a steady flow of nutrients. But depending on the growing conditions and number of plants in the container, a midseason boost may be needed. Stay on top of your fertiliser applications by making notes on a calendar. Dr Chris Brown revealed the moment he got punked by an imposter at last year’s Logies. The beloved celebrity vet told the hosts of Triple M’s Mick & MG in the Morning that the prank left him red-faced and wary of whether he’ll be allowed back onto the event’s red carpet this year, despite being the co-host. “I don’t think I’ll be allowed back onto the red carpet after last year’s Logies,” he said, and joked that he was shocked the incident didn’t get out into the public. The Project host Sarah Harris has denied allegations she is dating Dr Chris Brown. The 41-year-old, who announced her split from ex-husband Tom Ward in March 2021, was roasted about the rumours on The Kyle and Jackie O Show on May 8. Radio hosts Kyle Sandilands and Jackie O weren’t convinced by the reports so they called up Harris live on air to get some answers. "Oh, my God, you two!” said Harris after picking up the phone, evidently caught off guard. When asked if she was “sleeping with” the Bondi Vet star, 44, the journalist said, “No!” “You know my aunt called and checked as well. No, it's hogwash,” she said, adding that she had “no idea” where the tabloids got their claims from. “I haven't even had my second coffee yet, you two,' Sarah laughed. “I'm too busy and boring [for this].” Brown has remained silent about the rumours. Kyle and Jackie O did attempt to call him on air, but he didn’t answer. The I’m a Celebrity host, who dated TV presenter Roz Kelly in 2012 and actress Kassandra Clementi in 2014, is renowned for keeping his love life out of the public eye. His last relationship was with influencer Brooke Meredith from 2020 to 2022. Speaking to the Something to Talk About podcast in April 2023, Brown revealed he prefers not to subject his love life to public scrutiny. “The challenge is that it's hard enough to meet the right person anyway,” he explained. “That extra layer of speculation and interest… once you're actually in a relationship it's easy, but it's meeting that person at the start that's really hard.” Brown, who <a href="https://www.oversixty.com.au/news/news/the-doctor-is-out-chris-brown-changes-the-script" target="_blank" rel="noopener">quit Channel 10</a> and will transition to Seven Network in July, shared that media speculation about his romantic interests is “funny” to him, but can take a toll on his loved ones. Pope Francis hospitalised

Pope Francis, 86, was hospitalised in Rome's Gemelli hospital on Wednesday with a respiratory infection that requires him to remain under observation for a few days. "In recent days Pope Francis has complained of some breathing difficulties," Vatican spokesman Matteo Bruni said in a statement. The pope was taken to hospital for medical checkup, which then revealed the respiratory infection. Bruni added that tests have shown it was not Covid, but the infection “will require a few days of appropriate hospital medical treatment". “Pope Francis is touched by the many messages received and expresses his gratitude for the closeness and prayer,” Bruni added. The statement comes after the Italian media questioned whether the pope was unexpectedly hospitalised, or if he actually went for a scheduled checkup, as a TV interview scheduled with the pope Wednesday afternoon had been cancelled at the last minute. Earlier that day, the pope appeared to be in good spirits as he greeted the general audience at the Vatican in his popemobile. A Vatican source has also confirmed that the pope’s activities on Thursday were cancelled, and others were likely to follow, in what is his busiest period with Easter Sunday coming up on April 9. Pope Francis has had part of his lungs removed in his early 20s after almost dying when he developed pleurisy, so he is generally more exposed to respiratory problems. He also suffers from diverticulitis, which is a condition that can infect or inflame pouches in the digestive tract, and has had surgery for it in 2021. In January, he said that the condition had returned and did not elaborate further. The pope also has a problem with his knee, which has led him to cancel or limit activities last year and alternates between using a cane and a wheelchair in public. Outrage over Craig McLachlan’s TV return

Christie Whelan Browne has condemned the decision to put Craig McLachlan back in the limelight as part of the 2023 cast for SAS Australia. The series, which has been known to give its cast members ‘redemption arcs’, has faced criticism in the past for highlighting the likes of Wayne Carey and Sam Burgess. And now Browne - who accused McLachlan of sexually assaulting her during their theatre performances run - has taken to Twitter to voice her disgust at his return to television, asking the question, “how do we feel about someone who was charged on multiple sexual assault charges being put back on tv and being referred to simply as a ‘controversial figure’? “I also saw a post saying he was the ‘winner’ of that case. McLachlan was the star of their 2014 The Rocky Horror Picture Show production. He denied the allegations against him, and was found not guilty by a magistrate in December 2020 after a criminal trial. McLachlan has not had an acting job since the accusations were brought to light, and the SAS Australia announcement marks his return to television. The 57-year-old was reported by The Daily Telegraph to be flying from Sydney to train with ex-special forces in preparation for his time on the challenging reality series. The 2023 season has been declared to have a gruelling training regime that is set to have its participants “sweating bullets”. The mission statement for the 2023 season says the training regime will have the cast “sweating bullets”. McLachlan will be joined by convicted drug smuggler ‘cocaine Cassie’ Sainsbury, former world boxing champ Anthony Mundine, Thai cave rescue hero Dr Craig Challen, Brownlow medallist Jason Akermanis, model Lindy Klim, and Olympians Stephanie Rice, Peter Bol, and Matthew Mitcham. Why does my plant have brown tips on the leaves?

A healthy philodendron plant with green leaves We’ve all been there before. We’re watering our seemingly healthy houseplant when suddenly there it is: a tinge of brown on the plant’s leaf. Yikes. But what do brown tips on leaves mean for your plant, and what can you do to make them go away? Read on to find out. Lack of water or humidity If your plant is sporting crispy, dark, or brown tips on its leaves, it may mean you need to water more often. Check the soil moisture and slowly reduce the number of days in between watering. Watch your plants for signs of improvement. Lack of humidity could also be the cause. Tropical plants prefer higher humidity levels than we have in our homes. When we turn on the heat in winter, there’s even less moisture in the air. Group plants together so that as one loses moisture through its leaves, the neighbours benefit. Or place plants on saucers or trays filled with pebbles and water. Set a pot on the pebbles above the water. As the water evaporates, it will increase the humidity around the plant, where it is needed. Lack of nutrients A lack of key nutrients may be behind the brown tips on leaves of your plant. Burned-looking leaf tips, or old leaves with dark green or reddish-purplish colouring, may indicate a phosphorus deficiency. With a potassium deficiency, you may see yellow or brown along older leaf tips and edges, yellowing between veins, curling leaves, or spotting. For potted plants, add a slow-release type of fertiliser to the soil mix before planting. Every time you water, a little fertiliser is released, providing a steady flow of nutrients. But depending on the growing conditions and number of plants in the container, a midseason boost may be needed. Stay on top of your fertiliser applications by making notes on a calendar. “I am one of the group”: Francis Coppola reflects as ‘The Godfather’ turns 50

American writer and director Francis Ford Coppola has made dozens of films and gone on to win five Academy Awards and six Golden Globes, but The Godfather may just be his crowning achievement. With the first film in the trilogy celebrating its 50th anniversary, the acclaimed director shared the dramatic effects its success had on his life in an exclusive interview with <a rel="noopener" href="https://www.empireonline.com/movies/news/francis-ford-coppola-godfather-at-50-changed-my-life-exclusive/" target="_blank">Empire</a> magazine. “Well, it’s odd, of course. To think that 50 years has gone by since the adventure of The Godfather, and when that changed my life so dramatically,” he told the publication. “Because now the Coppola family is considered synonymous with [the film by] many people, [but] when I came to LA, to UCLA Film School, I just dreamed to get a peek inside a studio. “Movies were an exotic fairyland.” While making the film and in the leadup to its initial release, Coppola was under financial pressure to support his wife and kids. But, its debut in 1972 - prompting lengthy queues just to buy tickets - saw Coppola’s fortunes change drastically. “I went from having zero money at all and a family to support, to having several million dollars, which was astonishing,” he recalled. “No one in my family had that kind of money. I went from being unknown and poor with a lot of family responsibilities - I was married young and I loved my kids and my family - to having some money and acclaim. I was famous, everyone knew about The Godfather and everyone knew about me.” Though The Godfather certainly provided Coppola with fame and wealth, the 82-year-old says it gave him something else he had always wanted: a sense of belonging. “The way I look at it, I always wanted to be one of the group,” he said. “As first, I was an outsider, and I wasn’t included in the group because I was a new kid, or I was poor.
